The MorningStar Solar Home is a net-zero home — it produces as much energy as it consumes (plus some extra). It's located at the Sustainability Experience Center on Penn State's University Park Campus and is managed by Penn State’s Architectural Engineering Department.
University Park Campus Self-guided Green Tour
A self-guided tour showcases select buildings and sites on the University Park Campus that demonstrate a wide variety of green features and services. These are just some of the university’s efforts aimed at advancing its leadership in sustainability.

Penn State's Sustainability Experience Center
The nine-acre Sustainability Experience Center, which includes the MorningStar Solar Home, is a destination for students, teachers, business leaders, and citizens to experience and experiment with new (and old) ways to apply the practices of sustainability to food, water, building materials, and energy systems.
