Join us for the third screening in SI's 2020-21 film series, How We Respond. This series explores the different ways people are meeting the many challenges of sustainability, from climate change to systemic racism to economic hardship. These films provoke us to think about how each of us can respond in our own way--"bringing our stone to the pile," as Alice Walker writes, to contribute to a better future however we can. All films will be shown virtually online in partnership with WPSU and its OVEE platform. All films are free and open to all campuses and their communities..
Our third screening is a series of eight short films exploring the theme of "Art and Belonging." Each of these films, either as a work of art itselft or profiling artists/designers of some kind, explores how we feel connected (or sometimes disconnected) from belonging at different scales -- in our offices, communities, nations, and on planet Earth. The films demonstrate the power of the arts to help us ask new questions and seek new perspectives on how we understand sustainability and the challenge of building community. The films are being screened as part of the College of Arts and Architecture's Convergence: Sustainability Symposium, which is happening from October 19-21. Learn more about the short films (and find the link to register and watch the screening) here.
