“Let’s be part of the solution.”
to replace single-use petro-plastic bags
Friday & Saturday / SEPT 6 & 7 / * 1-5 p.m.
Artists/artisans, senior citizens, art teachers, and sewing/knitting groups across Centre County are invited to design and make large cloth shopping bags that they donate to be distributed to the public this fall. They will be shown publicly at an exhibition/silent auction Sept 6th&7th at Art Alliance in Lemont. This event will occur one week before the DRAWDOWN Conference at Penn State and will continue 2019/2020. If you do not have time now, please participate when you can.
We are also developing a series of 30-second ecology education Public Service Announcements to prepare the community for an eventual ban on petroleum plastic bags. We’d like citizens to respond positively to our environmental crisis by changing individual habits by reducing plastics, microplastic, and petrochemicals in our environment. We can all help change many consumer convenience culture habits. One such action is to switch from single use petro plastic bags to reusable cloth grocery bags.
